Ari Lennox

Courtney Shanade Salter, born on March 26, 1991 often referred to professionally as Ari Lennox, hails from Washington, D.C. and is the first female artist to be signed to J. Cole's Dreamville Records label. Her first single was released for the label on Oct. 21 2016 with the title Pho. It was then that she began gaining recognition. Shea Butter Baby is her debut album. It came out on May 19, 2019. Ari Lennox posted her music to the internet in 2012, when she dropped her five Finger Discount mixtape and Ariography EP in 2013. The singer continued uploading her tracks online through 2014 and released her own single Bound. In 2015, she was featured on Omen's Elephant Eyes Album, which came out on the 21st July. it out on 21st July. In the following year, her music circulated all over the Dreamville team, as J. Cole wanted her to collaborate with him on some potential references to Rihanna. Her announcement to be signed by Dreamville Records was made on December 8th. Backseat, a track she recorded with Cozz on her Revenge of the Dreamers II collaborative album. The 21st of October, 2016, her EP Pho was released. Ari Lennox later appeared on J. Cole's song Change and was an opening act for the 4 Your Eyez Only Tour in 2017. She also appeared in 2018 in two of her songs with labelmates EarthGang for Nothing but the Best. and Bas in Icarus. Ari Lennox dropped her first song Whipped Cream on Shea Butter Baby on July 16. The music video was released, followed by a music video September. Then, in November, she released her singles forty Shades of Choke & Grampa. In November 13, she came out with two additional singles, The No One as well as Pedigree. Shea Butter Baby was released as her first single on the 26th of February, 2019, for her album Creed II. Shea Butter Baby appeared alongside Cole as part of the Creed II sound track on the 16th of November. The 20th of February, 2019, a music video was released for the song. The track has received over 3 million views on YouTube within the initial week. She supported the 6LACK's From East Atlanta With Love Tour during December 2018.
